Janelle Samolia

Kin at Large

Hometown, Family & Occupation: Janelle grew up in Wakaw, SK, and currently serves with the RCMP Forensic Identification Section. She lives with her husband, Chris, and their daughter Charlotte. She also has two step-daughters, Chloe, and Victoria. Victoria is married to Luke and together they have a son, Henry.

Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement: Janelle is an active member of the Prince Albert Kin Club. She joined Kin to meet new people and support her community. Being part of the Kinsmen Foundation Board has allowed her to witness the true impact of Telemiracle. While many see the telethon as raising money and answering phones, Janelle values the opportunity to see how deeply the funds raised touch people’s lives every day. It fills her with pride to be part of such an impactful organization.

Favorite TeleMiracle Memory: Janelle’s favorite memory of TeleMiracle comes from her childhood. She recalls staying up as late as possible with her siblings, camping out on the living room floor to watch the show. They would eagerly wait to see their names scroll across the screen and, of course, to catch a glimpse of Bob from Sesame Street!

Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask: Her job allows her to see many aspects of life in Saskatchewan, but what stands out to her most is the kindness and compassion of the people in the province. It’s remarkable, and it’s one of the reasons she loves calling Saskatchewan home.

Milestones & Awards: Janelle is incredibly happy to have found Kin. It has provided her with amazing opportunities and introduced her to wonderful people who have become lifelong friends.
