Hometown, Family & Occupation: Born and raised in Swift Current, Leighton has lived in Kerrobert for the past 20 years. He is married with two children, the youngest of whom is graduating this year. After many years as a small business owner, Leighton recently transitioned to a new career as an apprentice plumber.

Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement: Leighton joined the Kerrobert Kinsmen shortly after moving to the town, inspired by the group’s commitment to serving the community. Over the years, he has held various club executive positions and served on the District Executive as Deputy Governor and District Secretary/Coordinator. He has been a regular TeleMiracle volunteer and now serves on the Kinsmen Foundation Board, helping make a meaningful impact across Saskatchewan. With his children now grown and more time on his hands, he found this the perfect opportunity to deepen his volunteer work.

Favorite TeleMiracle Memory: One of Leighton’s most cherished memories is from his own community. A principal with a big heart started a band called the “Rockin’ Rebels” with special needs students and educational assistants. Inspired by their spirit, she auditioned them for TeleMiracle. Leighton was thrilled when they were chosen to perform and had the privilege of helping them backstage, witnessing their joy and pride. It was a moment that made him proud to be part of Kin and the community.

Passion for Community Service & Love of Saskatchewan: Leighton is deeply committed to making a positive impact in his community and beyond. His dedication to Saskatchewan fuels his work with the Kinsmen Foundation and the Kerrobert Kinsmen Club. He believes in the importance of serving others and creating a supportive community environment.

Milestones & Awards: Leighton’s passion for community service is evident in his long-standing involvement with the Kerrobert Kinsmen and his various leadership roles. Leighton is proud of several key achievements in his Kin career. He organized and hosted a life membership ceremony for a deserving club member, he also chaired and planned a successful District Convention in Kerrobert, overcoming significant logistical challenges. His involvement on District Executive has included roles as Deputy Governor, District Secretary and Coordinator.
