Hometown, Family & Occupation: Paula was born in Calgary but has called Swift Current home for the past 26 years. She has been married to her husband, Scott. They have three daughters: Caitlin a teacher with son, Cashton; Kylana a nurse; and Kendra, also a nurse. Paula’s role is multifaceted, and she describes her occupation as “a little bit of everything,” reflecting her diverse skills and responsibilities.
Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement: Paula is a member of the Swift Current Kinettes. She serves as the Zone F Representative on the Kinsmen Foundation Board. Paula initially joined her local Kin club after being encouraged by a friend. She stayed because she believes deeply in the core values of the organization and is driven by a desire to give back to those in need. Having once been in a position where she needed help but didn’t know where to turn, Paula is committed to ensuring others do not feel the same loneliness and uncertainty. Her journey with the Kinsmen Foundation Board began as part of her role as Governor of District 3, where she served for two years as Vice Governor and then Governor. Even after her term ended, Paula wanted to continue contributing to the board, reflecting her ongoing commitment to the organization.
Favorite TeleMiracle Memory: Paula’s favorite TeleMiracle memory is a colorful exchange between Bob McGrath and Beverly Mahood, where Beverly jokingly replied to Bob with “F$%# You Bob” during the volunteer supper after the show. This humorous moment has stuck with her as a cherished memory.
Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask: Paula’s commitment to community service is rooted in her personal experiences and her desire to support others. Her involvement in the Swift Current Kinettes and the Kinsmen Foundation Board is driven by a genuine belief in the power of helping those in need and creating a sense of belonging for everyone.For Paula, the best thing about living in Saskatchewan is the close-knit community. She feels that when you help someone in need in Saskatchewan, you are often helping a friend, family member, or someone connected to you in some way, highlighting the deep connections within the province.
Milestones & Awards: Paula’s year as Governor was a pivotal moment in her Kin career, where she gained valuable knowledge about the association and grew personally. She takes pride in belonging to Kin Canada and considers this experience transformative, helping her become a better version of herself. A close second to this milestone was receiving her Life Membership in June 2023, an honor that recognizes her significant contributions to the organization.
