Susan Colbow

Zone H Rep

Hometown, Family & Occupation: Susan was born and raised in Estevan, Saskatchewan, and has never left her beloved hometown. She has been married to her husband Jim for 42 years. They have two daughters, Chelsey and Courtney. Chelsey is married to Jeremy, and they have two children, Hunter and Ryley. Courtney is partnered with Riley. Susan worked at TD Bank for 25+ years and has been a constituency assistant for the Government of Saskatchewan at MLA Lori Carr’s office since 2014.

Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement: Susan has been a dedicated member of the Estevan Kinette Club since 2002. She served on the Foundation Board as the Zone H Representative in 2011 and 2012 and as the TM42 Representative in 2018. Susan has also been part of five different TeleMiracle committees (38, 40, 41, 42, and 44). Susan’s parents were Kin members when she was growing up, and she fondly remembers attending their activities and events. Inspired by their involvement and the friendships they formed, she joined the Estevan Kinette Club. Her daughter Chelsey is now also a member of the club, continuing the family tradition. Susan’s long-standing commitment to her local club and her experiences at TeleMiracle motivated her to do more. Joining the Foundation Board allowed her to meet other Kinsmen and Kinettes from across the province and contribute beyond the club level. Her involvement with the Kinsmen Foundation Board led to her being asked to join the TM38 committee.

Favorite TeleMiracle Memory: One of Susan’s most cherished memories is from TM42, when Bob McGrath made a special appearance knowing it would be a record-setting show. The TM administrator sent Susan to sit with her family in the audience as they hit the $6 million mark. Bob McGrath’s surprise appearance and the final total of $7 million made the event even more memorable.

Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask: For Susan, the best thing about living in Saskatchewan is TeleMiracle. She admires the generosity of Saskatchewan’s people, who, despite being a small population, show immense love and support for TeleMiracle. Outside of her work with Kinettes, TeleMiracle, and the Kinsmen Foundation, Susan volunteers at a breakfast club program and serves as the Chair of the Estevan Diversified Services Board of Directors.

Milestones & Awards: Susan has accomplished a lot in her time in Kin, but her biggest achievement was receiving the prestigious Life Membership in 2019.
