Hometown, Family & Occupation:
Matt lives in Lloydminster with his wife and their daughter. After moving to Saskatchewan more than 30 years ago, he’s always felt a deep connection to the province. Professionally, Matt works for the Buffalo Trail School Division.
Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement:
Matt has been an active member of the Lloydminster Kinsmen Club for over a decade, holding multiple executive roles and leading major fundraising initiatives. His dedication to Kin and community service has now led him to serve as the Zone A Representative on the Kinsmen Foundation Board. “I believe the best way we can serve our community is to get involved with organizations that help those who need us the most,” Matt shares. “Being on the Foundation Board allows me to be an advocate and a resource for people facing difficult times.”
Favorite TeleMiracle Memory:
For Matt, TeleMiracle is most special when shared with his daughter. He loves watching the telethon together and seeing her excitement for the Saskatchewan talent showcased on stage. Another highlight is the joy on her face each year when the newest TeleMiracle teddy bear arrives in the mail—small moments that remind him of the hope and joy the telethon inspires in families across the province.
Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask:
Volunteering is a core value for Matt. “I feel we all have an obligation to help make our community the best it can be. When we can all give just a little of our time and talents to the greater community, the benefits we get back far exceed the effort we put in.” His love for Saskatchewan is rooted in its people—generous, resilient, and supportive. Even while calling Alberta home, Matt feels constantly drawn back to Saskatchewan and is proud to be part of the District 3 Kin family.
Milestones & Awards:
During his 10+ years in Kin, Matt has taken on numerous leadership opportunities within his club, including terms on the executive and leading major fundraising efforts. His commitment to Kin and to serving his community continues to be a driving force behind his work with the Kinsmen Foundation.
