Hometown, Family & Occupation:
Carlie was born and raised in Watrous, SK and now calls Regina home. She and her husband have been married for 7 years and have two cats, Puddie and Obi. Together, they love to travel and spend time with family and friends. Carlie is an Elementary French Immersion Itinerant, where she gets to teach Art, English, and Social Studies.
Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement:
Carlie is a proud member of the Regina and District Kin Club. Carlie joined the club in 2019 after moving home from living abroad and seeking new opportunities and connections within the community. One of her first events was Telemiracle and after that, she was hooked! Carlie has played an important role in her club as secretary, entertainment and membership coordinator. Carlie can often be found at Kin events behind a camera documenting the many exciting moments! This is Carlie’s first year on the Kinsmen Foundation Board as a Member at Large and is so excited to be able to give back to her community in another capacity and advocate for applicants. Carlie loves getting to know people, making connections, and learning their stories.
Favorite TeleMiracle Memory:
Carlie remembers sitting in the crowd during Bob McGrath’s last TeleMiracle with tears running down her face as he sang “Rainbow Connection.” Also, that final total during every TeleMiracle is such an emotional and incredibly powerful, overwhelming moment! Carlie loves taking photos of the event and capturing the many incredible moments both on stage and behind the scenes.
Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask:
Carlie is a small-town girl at heart. Her passion for volunteering was instilled from a young age by watching her parents give back to her community through volunteering both their time and donating money to many projects and fundraisers. It is incredible what a community can do when the people all work together towards a common good! The spirit and kindness of Saskatchewan people is really like no other in the world. Carlie has had incredible opportunities to travel, but is always so grateful for the warm welcome she receives when she returns home! Carlie loves new experiences and connecting with people.
