Hometown, Family & Occupation:
Tammy and her husband, Brad, have spent their entire lives in Dinsmore, SK—affectionately known as “The Buckle of the Wheatbelt.” In the spring of 2025, they moved from the family farm to their lake home on Lake Diefenbaker. After a fulfilling 30-year career in healthcare, Tammy is now retired and happily recruited by Brad to lend a hand on the farm. Together they are proud parents of two daughters, Bayley and Megan, and their “favorite son-in-law,” Derek. Their greatest joy, however, comes from their two grandchildren, who light up their lives.
Kin Club & Kinsmen Foundation Board Involvement:
Tammy has been a dedicated member of the Dinsmore Kinette Club since 1995. Over the years, she has taken on many leadership roles, including District 3 Kinette Governor in 2003–2004. Her involvement with the Kinsmen Foundation Board during that time left an indelible mark, fueling her passion to give back once again. Now serving as Chair of TeleMiracle 50, Tammy is excited to be part of a team that directly improves lives while ensuring the Foundation is a careful steward of the funds entrusted by Saskatchewan donors. “I truly believe none of us have to look far to know someone who has been touched by the Kinsmen Foundation,” she says.
Favorite TeleMiracle Memory:
With so many cherished memories, Tammy finds it difficult to choose just one. However, she highlights the profound moments of silent knockdowns—often in honor of a special bequest—as unforgettable. She also treasures the pride she feels each year singing O Canada at the close of the telethon. “That’s why we’re so passionate about the Kinsmen Foundation and TeleMiracle—it’s about making your community, province, and country just a little bit better than it was yesterday.”
Passion for Community Service & Love of Sask:
Tammy grew up surrounded by strong role models in community service, watching her grandparents and parents devote themselves to volunteering and Kin. For her, the question was never if she would join Kin, but when. She and Brad firmly believe in the responsibility to give back not only locally, but also to the broader community. They’ve worked hard to instill that same value in their daughters. Tammy’s love for Saskatchewan shines through in her words: “There truly is no place like Saskatchewan. Strangers look out for each other, and friends rally around in both joy and sorrow. For nearly 50 years, TeleMiracle has been the purest expression of this Saskatchewan spirit.”
Milestones & Awards:
Tammy was honored with a Kin Canada Life Membership in 2010 by her Dinsmore club. She has served on multiple TeleMiracle committees, including TeleMiracle 31 and 35, both of which she describes as unforgettable experiences. Today, she is incredibly humbled to serve as Chair of the TeleMiracle 50 committee—an opportunity she considers a true highlight of her Kin journey.
